The Savage Model 842 in .222 Rem has a 1 in 14 rate of twist.

You can also find the twist rate by putting a cleaning rod in it with a patch in the slot, marking your cleaning rod on the side facing you (we'll call this mark the "twist" mark). Then put a mark on the rod where your cleaning rod enters your chamber (assuming you are pushing from the chamber end. If you clean from the muzzle end, then mark where your rod enters the muzzle). Then slowly push the cleaning rod through the barrel until your "twist" mark rotates all the way around until it faces you again. Then mark on the rod where your rod enters your chamber (or your muzzle, if cleaning from the muzzle), remove the rod, and measure between the two marks on the rod where it had met your chamber (not the "twist" mark). The distance between the two marks is your twist rate. This works because the patch on your rod engages the rifling in the bore, and causes your cleaning rod to rotate with the rifling.
Thanks, fellas.
