    Finding a Bipod

I just bought a Savage Model 12 VLP-DBM with the heavy beavertail forearm. I am trying to find a bipod to fit this forearm. All the bipods I can find locally are made to fit the narrower forearms on most hunting rifles and I do not want to scar up the wood on this rifle if I can help it. I called Savage to get a recommendation from them, but they were no help as they will not recommend any aftermarket accessories.

Anyone know which bipod will fit this forearm?

    Thanks.

What does the rifle have to mount the bipod? Just a standard sling swivel stud?

The Sinclair F-Class bipod (elevation adjustable) is expensive, but it is awesome if shooting from a stationary location. Several of us use it in the club F-Class matches.

Harris Benchrest Bipod would be my choice.

I also like the Harris bipods on the hunting rifles. Tall grass /brush can be a problem.

Really starting to like the Bogpod (3-leg) for those environments. Bogpod also works well in ground blinds. Ended up buy one for my daughter and one for my brother so could count on having mine when I wanted it.
