Read at your own risk: E3 in 9mm

So with the powder shortage being what it is, I decided to scarf up one of Grafs' last 4 pounders of e3 with hopes of using it in 9mm. I did some mining through Google and found a post on Brian Enos' forums stating good results. My jug showed up yesterday, so last night I loaded up 100 rounds and shot them today at the range. Here are the results:

    Mixed Brass
    4.2gr e3 (Hornady Bushing #13)
    Federal SPM Match primer
    Ruger SR9
Lee 358-125-RF, sized .358 and lubed with Tac #1

    1115
    1145
    1121
    1142
    1158
    1140
    1130

    Mean: 1135.86
    SD: 14.83
    ES: 43
    PF:142

And here's a group. The top is rapid fire, the bottom is slow fire. I need to drift the sights a bit, but you get the idea.

I have definitely found my new go-to load for 9mm, which is good... I have about 6000 more rounds to make before I'm done using it.
It requires less mental effort to condemn than to think.

Oh yea... The primers were still nice and round and there was very little leading. The bore of the barrel looks like a coral reef with all the tool marks. I have a firelapping kit coming from BTB to remedy that problem.

I have found loads with E3 very close to red dot loads...maybe just a slight bit under. Had good luck with it myself.
