I wonder if anyone has successfully been able to load and shoot the short shells? I think Anguilla made them. When I tried, the shells would flip around and, if I continued to cycle it, would load backwards.

I assume these are the ~1.5" long 12 ga shells.
Never tried them in any repeater. I think they will be very unlikely to work
in any magazine fed shotgun. Probably only useful in single and double
guns.

If it was easy, anybody could do it.
Those were originally made to increase capacity in tube magazines for police, so they do work in some repeaters. Getting a gun chambered for 3" magnums to feed them might be a nice trick, though -- there were a couple threads here not too long ago (try spelling the name "Aguila" and you can probably find them with a search).
thanks for the replies. it is a 2 1/2" and they did work in a rem 870. but that gun is gone now. I thought I had it spelled right, but auto complete kicked in.
Look for something on the cartridge elevator that could be catching the rims and flipping the rounds. If you're willing to dedicate the gun to only the short cartridges, you could put a stop block on the elevator, but I'd guess you want to retain the ability to feed the shells the gun was originally designed to take.
