NOE 128 gr. 9mm HP results

Wow–this is one aggressive HP. I shot these into a gallon jug of H2O with 4 wet phone books behind it,
velocity about 1050 fps, loaded over 4.1 gr. 231 and composed of 50/50 range lead/Pb.
Interested in hearing other folks experience with this bullet.

Just cast up about 800. Need to size load and try'em out for myself. They sure look nice...

Those look great. Have you done any expansion testing without the HP?

Here's a before & after. This has proven to be a forgiving bullet design, nary a tumble even with really soft lead pushed hard. Very satisfying push loaded over 3.8 grains of BE. about 950-975 fps. The HPs weigh out at about 130 with soft alloy. Haven't cast any solids yet. I have pan-lubed and tumble-lubed, as shown. All work well. The mold itself is a work of art.

I received my NOE 358-128 HP Mold and tried it last Saturday. I followed the break-in instructions and started casting some boolits. The alloy is made up of COWW and a little 50/50 solder and the boolits are water quenched. The boolits cast at a little over .358 and weighed 127 grains. This is my third mold after using two Lee Molds. I must say that the NOE Mold exceeded my expectations. I have attached a picture of the boolits from my first casting session with this mold after they have been lube-sized to .357 with Carnuba Red Lube.

Thats the mold I want to. What are you sizing and lubing on? What load will you use--oal & powder & charge? Would also like to hear how they feed and shoot.

How deep into the phone books did it penetrate?

I really want to try the mold he has for 45, but funds are a little tight at the moment. But at least I know I can get one.

I am sizing on an RCBS Lube-a-Matic II with an RCBS .357 Sizing Die. I'll be trying 5.5 Grs. HS-6 Powder to start. I don't yet know what OAL until I try seating a bullet and checking the fit in my barrel.

Deep...into several phone books. You see how they look on the other side in above photo. I retrieved one from a stump, it had turned inside-out. I really don't work for NOE...but the accuracy is killer, too. Check out this target from last night at the range. that there's 15 rounds.
