My good deed for the day

Any former boy Scouts here? Remember the thing about doing a good deed every day? Well, I did my good deed this morning.

I called Miss Jeanette, the lady at the local 'Mom & Pop' gunshop this morning to order a Weaver base for a Marlin 336. She wrote it down and asked me "You need anything else, Jim?"

"Yes Ma'am, if you happen to find a brick of anything in 22 long rifle, get one for me." She busted out laughin'. When she regained her composure, she said "Jim, honey, you know I'm just pickin' atcha, don't you?" "Miss Jeanette, if you didn't pick at me, I'd be 'fraid you was mad at me!"

She said she asked one of her suppliers recently if they had any 22 ammo and the guy on the phone laughed just like she did and she was just givin' me what she got for an answer.

So, having brought some joy and laughter into the life of an elderly lady this morning, I'm claiming I've done my good deed for the day. I want my badge!

I was told by my local gun shop owner, that if I happen to see Big Foot handing out Easter eggs, he'll have a brick of .22s for me!

I saw big foot the other night coming home real late. He wasn't handing out Easter eggs, and he didn't have any 22 ammo on him either. I think your LGS owner was pullin' your leg about the Easter eggs and bricks of 22 shells.

    Best wishes,

Quiet! The shortage has not hit roll caps yet. I am running experiments on re-manufacturing primers using roll caps for priming compound. It shows promise and looks like two caps work better than one. Save your spent primers you may need them in the future.

Got plenty of primers but "Be Prepared".
