Got some Pb sheets and pipes.

I went to the scrapyard finally, and was able to get some sheet lead and pipe - looking stuff. I reckon this is more or less pure lead? Around here (S'ern AZ) .90/lb is a pretty good price. I could have gotten ww for .60/lb, but I am really tired of all that sorting.

Anyway, the question is, some of those pieces are too big for the pot, and I really don't want to use a saw (Lead dust, etc). D'ya reckon I could use tin snips? Any ideas about how to cut these (some are pretty well crumpled up) would be appreciated.

A hatchet/axe works wonders for cutting up the soft stuff, especially pipe.

I use a sawzall with metal cutting blade. I just keep the rpm down. I usually don't have that awful much to do at a time.

Yes, hatchet, ax, machete, snips and one of my favorites for sheet and pipe is loppers. Long handled kind like for cutting limbs and bushes. Loppers work really good for cutting cable sheathing off cable too, slide the thin blade up the cable and cut away. 10

Once again, the boolit boys come thru. I finally did think of the axe all by myself, but I wonder how long it would have taken me to think of the pruning loppers. Many thanks folks! Or, as we say in Southern AZ, mil garcias (Just a pun, don't get offended.)
