I just got a 44 mag, M94 in a deal. Top eject, yadda, yadda. Made sometime in the 70's or 80's. SN is 3,XXX,XXX M
What does the M mean?

More than likely that letter means probably what month or year it was made.Robert
They stamped "M" on the end of the serial number to designate it as being a magnum frame.
I believe "MAGNUM" is stamped on the bottom of the frame also. At least my 3409XXXM 44 is. I think mine was dated to 1971.
