Very clever! I may order one just incase I ever decide to load the 300!

VonZep,
I bought one of these from the 300blktalk forum, but we've got a guy here might be able to use one for a different caliber. Bet he's out hunting deer or elk right now, but BTSniper is working on 400Thunder right now, a necked up 40/308. If he gets a reamer, I'm going after a barrel in that one too.

does each different cartridge require a different jig?

I don't even load 300 Blackout, but the jig looks like a fine idea for swagers to cut cases too.

I looked at the swaging thing. I am not familiar with the idea but from what I saw I could do this in several calibers.
Wow! If you ever put that ingenuity to work on one for the rimmed 30 and or 357 Herrett I'm in for one (or two).

Life is not waiting for the storm to subside, life is about learning to dance in the rain.
The only changes would be the diameter of the "collar" (or whatever you call the tubular part supporting the case) for different diameter cases, and the placement of where the detent ball catches the extractor groove for control of length. So without actually having held or saw one of your jigs in person I think you would need a new jig for each different diameter or length. That could get expensive having several built for different calibers and weights.
I've been trying to figure out a way to make something fully adjustable to get repatable straight and precise cuts. Your tool is definitely a step in the right direction. I figure the more links and the longer this thread stays on the front page, the more likely someone smarter and more skilld may see it and come up with what I'm thinking of. When I get some funds flowing in I'll get on at least to examine, may even give me an excuse to get a blackout.
What case is most often cut for swagging? 9mm? The taper case may be an issue .
I
Taper is a problem unless you use a collet that grips the rim like Forster trimmers. There are only a truly few straight walled cases used for jackets, like 40S&W,10mm and 45ACP. The one I do the most triming of, and have a lot of problems with, is 30 Cabine to make .357 bullets. It's heavily tapered and I rarely get truly straight cuts. Maybe BTSniper could help with cases and trim lengths commonly used.

Grumpa would that be a Fred Bertlsman trim and debur head there??
As a matter of fact it is, I have a few of them and for what they do I actually couldn't live without them. He charges slightly more for his than a RCBS 3-way trimmer but I have a real hard time keeping brass from accumulating at the tool cutter for the O.D. on the RCBS.
With as much trimming as I do on a weekly basis I've tried both trimmers (RCBS and Fred's) and Fred's wins the contest hands down. It's to the point it takes me longer to put the case in then it does to actually trim the case. And to give you folks an idea I can go thru about 7k on a busy week, so his little trimmer head gets used alot. With Fred's trimmer I can do mine at a rate of 250pcs in just over 15min, and production for me right now is a blessing.
