Buying new Lee Bottom pour - which one?

Hi folks. I have a choice between the Lee Pro 4-20 with flow adjustment and the Lee Production Pot IV . The latter being NZ $15 cheaper. I'm not sure I need the flow adjustment and depending on how the IV works, would like the old feature of being able to rotate the plug shaft for sealing. Any experience with either or both?

I've got both and use both. If I only had to pick one I'd probably pick the smaller Production Pot IV, especially if I were going to cast in small batches with a 2-cavity mold. Why? Because with the Lee Leaksters of either model, that old feature of being able to rotate that plug shaft for leak-stopping is pretty handy.

I also have both, but I have them both heated up and full when casting. I use a 6 banger mold and the lead goes fast. But when using 3 and 2 cv molds I do prefer the 20# one.

I have both pots as well. The capacity and superior valve of the Pro 4-20 make it worth every bit of the extra cost.

You can rotate the valve shaft on either model if it should drip.

Thank you. Then the decision is made - It'll be the 4-20.

Ya did the right thing! Filled to the top the 4-20 only holds 17 lbs of Alloy and you don't want to run it too low. The 12-14 lbs usable goes pretty fast.
