Tyrants use the force of the people to chain and subjugate-that is, enyoke the people. They then plough with them as men do with oxen yoked. Thus the spirit of liberty and innovation is reduced by bayonets, and principles are struck dumb by cannon shot: Albert Pike, Morals and Dogma
I just hope there was no injuries.

Well at least it was not REAL black powder.Every time they have a REAL black powder

Sounds like it was the GOEX company.
I guess I never have read Hodgens background before. The dude started with 50,000 pounds of surplus 4895!!! Good thing he was not stingy. Talk about doing some shooting.
I too hope no one was hurt, but unless no one was there it's doubtful.
It was an explosion in a bunker leased from the Louisiana National Guard by Explo Inc. Apparently it was a bunker of explosives or smokeless powder and had nothing to do with Goex.
Pyrodex is made in Shawnee Mission Kansas ? according to website for Hodgen.

A munitions bunker or powder magazine under a railroad track? A railroad track laid over a munitions bunker or powder magazine? Even if its just a track to shuttle stuff around a production facility, I have trouble believing that. As powder magazines and munitions bunkers are designed to direct explosive energy straight up, would they have rail cars moving directly above them?

I got my info from here. Hope someone didn't hack their site and tell false info.
"Even though he had no place to store gunpowder, and did not know if enough shooters would gamble to purchase unknown types of propellant, Bruce cut government red tape and soon owned 50,000 pounds of government surplus 4895. An old boxcar moved to a rented farm pasture served as the first magazine, the first one-inch ad placed in the American Rifleman, and Bruce was in business."
"In January 2009 Hodgdon acquired an American icon GOEX Powder, Inc. GOEX has a rich history dating back to 1802 where E.I. Du Pont de Nemours broke ground on his original black powder plant along the Brandywine River in Delaware. Goex Powder, Inc. manufactures black powder used for sporting applications such as civil war re-enactments and flintlock firearms, and is a vital component for industrial and military applications. Located in Minden, Louisiana, GOEX Powder, Inc. is the only U.S. manufacturer of black powder."
If a pyrocrap plant ever blew up there would be an inverted funnel shaped "fallout" area of nothing but rust for hundreds of miles.
pyrodex is an excellent powder. One of the most reliable subs to this day.
