My Blue Book is the twenty-eighth edition so it's a few years old but here's what it says.
721 $300 in 90% That's just plain 721 the ADL and BDL lists a little higher.
    788- $325 in 90%
I don't know what they are actually bringing but at least this should give you a start hope it helps. FB

out here on the dry side of Wa. state a good buy is $250-$275 for either gun.Gunshow and shop prices add about $100.Since the current Savage Axis and other economy rifles new selling under $300 i dont see them selling as fast and sit around for a bit.A well worn but solid 721 in '06 in a local pawn shop had to get down to $180 to sell recently.

    Thanks !
I found both of these rifles on the dry side of WA....specifically Dicks guns in Riverside
he was asking $300.00 for the -06 and $400. for the 22-250...
I thought the price for the 06 was about right but the price for the 22-250 was too high.

Make sure the 788 comes with a magazine. Prices on 788 replacement magazines are amazing.

that does sound kinda high on the 788, the 721 is a fine rifle. the only promblem i've found with the 721's, is that the comb is to low and it'll smack your cheek pretty good. but not everyone may be affected by that.
