Crackers and milk was a staple for me growing up as well. I may have to bust a bowl out tonight after seeing this thread.

`I've eaten a ton of Zestas with soup, peanut butter, cheese, or even just Dukes Mayo. I most always drank milk with them, but I never made cracker soup.
Before there was crunchy peanut butter, I made my own with dry oatmeal, peanut butter, and honey.

Peanut butter and molasses or sorghum syrup, there's a good combo. Straight or on the shingles.

Pinto bean sandwich with mustard & pepper
Bunker Hill chili no beans over scrambled eggs
    Cornbread & buttermilk
Bologna & onion sandwich with a glass of cold buttermilk

If you put a oyster and sum butter in that milk make them crackers easier to go down.

Dang, Gear, don't even entertain the thought of shingles to those who had chicken/small pox, or some other like ailment as a child!!! That powerful "virus" never leaves the system once intact! ... felix

Put some rippled potato chips and mustard as necessary on that and I'll have one, w/ a dill pickle on the side.

I'll stick with peanuts and pepsi, a gallon of milk would last me two months if I cooked with it a lot.

Yea I like SOS too, but if you have the other it’s a bad deal. The vaccine hasn’t been around that long that’s why I posted it.

I'm a long time crackers and milk consumer. The first time I enjoyed a bowl after marrying my wife she couldn't fathom why I would make such a concoction.
Last year she brought me home a box of "New England Milk Crackers". Never heard of them before, they're a bit like a saltine but sweeter and with more of a golden baked finish. Makes a REALLY good bowl of crackers and milk.
It is hard to fail, but it is worse never to have tried to succeed.

To those of us, unfortunate enough to have experienced the shingles, it's all we think of at the mention of it's name. I had hardly heard of the shingles till I got the vaccine. Then I got the shingles.
Man that is a mean kind of hurt.

BTW crackers and milk didn't help.

    Anybody else do this?
I get a Jethro Bodine sized bowl and crush a whole sleeve of crackers, add milk like they were cereal and I'm in hog heaven.

Me...potato chips and chocolate milk. Don't know why, but drinking a sip after munching a few is a taste treat. Eat, sip. Eat, sip.

When my sister was a kid she liked to mix the jellied type of cranberry sauce with milk. She liked the bitterness. She also took the cream filling out of her Oreo's and ate the cookie part between white bread. Nuts.

Leftover cornbread+milk+maple syrup = breakfast. Nuke it a little to warm. Mmmmm. Mash it up a little and let it set up.

Honey works if you run out of maple.
