Is the retainer cutout on top or bottom on these? I got a new firing pin for my NY State model from Wisner's (original was long enough to scare me with the indentation - apparently it was the original FP made for the early inside primed .50-70 cartridges.
Anyway Wisner's makes new ones, both types plus the #5 7mm small tip FP.

I have a lathe so that makes it a whole bunch easier but I think a 1/4 " grade 8 bolt and a file and drill and you to could whip one up. I have made a couple with pieces of bolt and they have fired many a shot.
