    Forester Coax Press for Swaging

    Hello All,

I've been lurking here for a while & just joined the group
yesterday. Been reloading for some time. Use a Forester Coax single
stage press for load development & a Hornady progressive
    for volume loading.

Haven't done any swaging & want to learn. So, is it OK
to use the Forester for swaging? Want to do .223 & eventually
.40. Will start with spent .22RF. Lastly, can this press also handle
sizing cooper tubing like refrigerator/plumbing tubing for .223/.40

    Thanks for any help!

I don't know that the co-ax has the mechanical advantage needed for swaging. I'd look for a used rock chucker.

I have used my co-ax for swaging pure lead bullets for pistols, but I was really straining it. I stopped before I broke something. I would look for a rockchucker if I was to do it again. The toolman.

I agree with the other two. I had one reloading student come by with a COAX, and it was OK for reloading, but doesn't have enough oomph to make swaged bullets.

The used RockChucker makes much more sense.

Thanks for the warning, sure don't want to break the Forester.
Will probably go with the Corbin.

The Forster is a little light in its toggle links etc, do not even much care for it as a reloading press!

I was using a Rockchucker supreme and a single stage die for 44. Broke one of the connecting links within the first month. RCBS cheerfully replaced the link. (Never even asked what I was doing when it broke.) I have since bought a used Dave Corbin S Press. Makes a world of difference.

If you go with a Rockchucker make sure it's an original or a #2.
