I sort of have another. A couple years ago my pa-in-law calls me out of the blue and asks me if I'm going to let my son (then 4) have guns when he's older.

I said "sure if he shows me he is responsible".

"Good, I'll leave him the Springfield in my will" he replied.

Of course, we're hoping it's a long time before we actually have to execute that will.

10mm Commander, alumunum frame, stainless slide, built by me.

I have a norinco 1911 in .45ACP. I got it as a project gun to build on.

    It started out like this:

I fitted a beavertail to it and some other parts, then I sent the slide to a smith to mill it for bomar sights, after that I had it bead blasted and kept it like this for a year:

About a year ago I tried caustic bluing and now it looks like this:

Combat Elite built in the early 80's. Kimber grips, the gun was returned by the police (over a year after it was stolen) and the b@$t@rds must have holstered the gun in a swamp, the grips were toast. Buddy had extra set of Kimber grips.

Pistol cloth underneath only cost R30, but the plane ticket to get it was over $2k

    6" Stainless AMT 10mm
    Kimber Custom Classic
Safari Arms at bottom. It is getting a Bo-Mar slide cut soon with the STI Bo-Mar copy.

All have had trigger jobs at 2.5 to 3 lbs.

Some of the nicest handguns in the world but can be a royal pita with feeding problems.
