    Dillon expander ?

Does anyone make custom expanders for Dillon. I have a 550 and trying to load 44mags as cast at 433 or so. I can get the boolits seated but I have a bulge in the case. Thanks

If the bulge is below the bullet then the bullge is a result of the case being smaller then the bullet and it looks like a Coke Bottle. That is not a bad thing, totally normal. It means you have good bullet tension.

    BUT

If it is swaging the bullet down then it's a issue.
If the bulge is causing the case not to fit the chamber then it's a issue.

Yep. I have the expander set to protrude into the case. My loaded rounds fit in my cylinders fine. If my boolits were any larger, they wouldn't fit in my cases. They are close to .433 I would suspect. I have pin gauges but don't have a micrometer that is accurate enough to measure that close.

Large bullets are always going to have a case that steps down at the point the bullet ends in the case.
