francote nepal martini in 22 mag

i just finnished this project that was on the back burner foe a year and a half.
i used the action off a nepal parts gun from IMA, the take off barrel from a rem
223 now chambered for 22 rimfire mag. no i have,nt had it out to the range yet.
i have test fired it and everything works tickety boo.

this is the jig i made to fit the extractor. u notice that i did not have to cut the jig
and clamp as it tighten up in the right spot. talk about luck

I have two of those Francotte actions. They were the ones that were sold "as is". Parts may be broken or missing. Mine both had broken trigger pins and one had a broken mainspring. I had 10 spare mainsprings and made two trigger pins. The pins are neat, they have a tapered head that tightens into a tapered seat. It took many days of fileing and polishing to get all the pitting out of it but now I have two fine actions. Now I just have to get off my butt and barrel and stock them. I have a Pac-Nor 303 barrel, and one 45 caliber barrel I took off (the other one was trash), in fact both may be trash. One was solid rust and the other looked like they cut it through with an ax. I cut off about 7in and the rest may be useable. Your post has lit a fire under me. I could make two fine rifles of those actions.

PS: I'll see if I have pics of the actions in the white.

i bought 6 of those and the parts will not interchange without some fitting. the barrels
will not screw into another action. these look like they were all hand made. one barrel
was dammascus style. about 1 1/2 wide strip wound and forged. i got 3 actions out of
    6. i chased all the action barrel threads to 1 in x 14 TPI. one of the actions was broke
on one side on the back end. i would recomend u keep to low pressure cartridge
    likw 38 special ect.
