    Unknown 223 Swage Dies

I have aquired a set of swage dies from a friend. They have no markings on them to tell who made them. I would like to find some info about them, so I am posting photos of them in hopes that someone know's more about them.

This is the set of 3 dies:

This is the ogive point die dis-assembled:

This is the core seat die dis-assembled:

The core squirt/swage die has the bleed hole in the bottom punch, and it makes a core that is 0.074 inch in dia."

The bottom punches screw apart as shown:

The slugs they make look like this. The top pin is 0.092 inch in dia.:

Any info on who made them would be helpful.

    Thanks

After reading the warning of how I am to behave by the self described ruling 'benevolent dictatorship', I will offer this information on your swage dies.

Those are most likely a set of SAS dies made by the late Ted Smith. I have a set identical to them EXCEPTING the hole in the bleed die stem. Ted gave me my dies some 20 years ago. He also related the story to me of how the Corbin brothers came under his tutelage and after they learned the business, exited stage left and began making and selling the dies as their own. Therefore there is a possibility that these are an early set of Corbin made dies, copied from Ted Smith's.

Without changing the above text, I want say that Ted gave me my die set closer to 30 years ago. I think he passed away over 20 years ago.

For what it's worth, dictatorships suck, and by and by, are overthrown.

They look great for the age.
"Consequently we move away from other shooters to remain focused on our passion, as our ideas are quickly dismissed or misunderstood by others. Sharing does not come easily for swagers, not because they are necessarily selfish, but because they have been whittling away in their only little world for so long, that being able to relate to others what they understand is no simple task."

They very well may be SAS or Corbin, since they took over for Ted in their earlier years many of the products were virtually identical.

If you buy a box of my 22LR brass, I will rent them to you for a couple of months.
Of course if you break them, then ------------

I have a set in 30 cal, but I have no squirt die punch. I wondered how cores were to be swaged to a uniform weight, now I know!
Good to know who might have made them, I got them in a "deal" on another forum.
