    Shot My First Reloads Today!!!

    blow myself up

Yeayyyyyy, I didn’t blow myself up!! Shot my first reloads today and yup I’m hooked. (you can find the load data on my last post).

I shot 15yds away with a XDm 45ACP 10 rounds of 3.8gr, 4.0gr, 4.2gr, and 4.5gr of Bullseye. 3.8gr felt a bit light but considering how nervous and shaky I was I liked the accuracy of the load.

No significant change in accuracy when I shot test cast base and ring/groove minor defects.

All 50 rounds shot flawless, no chambering problems, no stuck boolits, no ka boom.

It looks like there’s some light leading especially in the chamber.

Thank you all for helping me out with my previous posts and thanks to Jerry from Carolina Cast Bullets for really getting me pointed in the right direction.

    -Joe

Joe, a free photobucket account and you can use "insert Image" to do it. You just copy the 'direct link' on photobucket and paste in the box. Be sure to delete the http part first.

Jerry O'Connor is a really great guy. Your lead bullets will shoot a little softer just naturally. J-words rely on a LOT of pressure that cast doesn't need. If the load shoots, is accurate, and will function your slide good, use it!
Congratulations on a new discovery and becoming a reloader/caster.

Congratulations Joe. Nothing like shooting your own ammo. I also have an XDm (9mm comp), they are nice guns.

    Congrats

Looking good! As they say on this board welcome to the obsession. I also shot my first reloads today, I didn't blow up either. Can't wait to shoot some of my cast boolits.
