i have heard that name before.
but when i get bar solder that i am certain isn't body lead i just go with the it's 50-50 thought process.
Bar solder is usually an alloy of lead and tin. Just guessing. . .but you might have a pure tin bar.
Everything I found while searching lead me to believe it is some sort of silver solder. I have no idea of what that means though.
You may want to consider selling it to someone who will use it as solder and buy known material, unless of course you can figure out it's composition.

Ronald Reagan once said that the most terrifying words in the English language are: "I'm from the government and I'm here to help".

Most of what I find for Taramet is lead free solder. I'd hold off on melting that until I could figure out more about it. Lenox would be a good place to call, 1-800-628-3030
thanks for the info,i called lenox and they have been sold too another company. called the new comp and they have to research it and get back with me lol. i will let you know as soon as i hear somthing. don
