    Trimming cases to jackets

Here is my pinchtrim die to trim .38 spl cases. Just add correct lenght and diameter bushing to trim other caliber cases.
Lenght adjustments should be easy with hot glue and washers .

    Case going up.

And coming down, about to separate trimmed bit.

Pretty simple way to trim, and have seen it done before. The thing that scared me about it is that if you are off too much, the top or bottom punch get broken (tool smash). And, it leaves a thin burr type edge that needs to get cleaned up.

I'd rather do my power tool trim, using a modified RCBS Pro Trim.

Nice work as always KTN. Very smart way to pull the case back threw the bushing leaving trimed portion behind if I'm looking at it correctly.

Good to hear from you. Hope all is well.

    Good shooting and swage on!

p.s. is it FAST? Looks SIMPLE!

    DukeInMaine,

You are right, it's simple way to trim cases and really easy to smash cutting edge, if not properly set. But when properly set there is no problem, and it's easy to make new bushings.

    BT Sniper,

    Thanks,
You are looking it correctly, that is how it works.
I'm still kicking , work just keeps interfering more important things, like shooting, loading, casting, swaging and building stuff. But winter is here, so now I have more time to build my toys .
It trims cases as fast as I can pull trimmed case from shellholder, put new in, drop bushing over it and pull handle and return it.

Another member here asked for ideas on how to trim .38 spl cases to .38 long Colt, and it got me thinking,,,,,, .
But it will work just as well for trimming jackets, one die, set of bushings for different diameters, hot glue and washers and any lenght jacket with one pull of handle.
