    cleaned ww ingots

    Hi Everybody,

it has been a while. I have an opportunity to buy two 5 gallon buckets of cleaned WW that have been cast into ingots already. WHat is the going rate for cleaned WW ingots?

If these 5 gallon buckets are full of ingots, rather than loose wheelweights, they are going to be over 200 pounds each.

I can't give you a current price, the last batch I bought about 5 years ago were $20 per bucket. Before processing, those buckets weighed 150 pounds, which is 13 cents per pound. I'm guessing they are a bit higher now, and the smelting adds value.

If you bought the ingots here, then it would run you about $1 per pound. So, at 200 lbs each that would be $400.

I recently bought a couple of buckets of raw ww's for $50 each. They each had about 110 to 120 lbs of lead in there.

I just finished making ingots out of a 5 gallon bucket of WW. I got right at 110 pounds out of it. $1 a pound for processed WW seems to be the going rate.
