anyone using RD 170 rf in 30-06

I loaded and shot some loads Sunday. Was not happy with results. I used imr 4895 with dracon filler. 28,29, and 30 gr. loads. OAL was 3.095 with Lee factory crimp. If yiu have a load that works good , please share. I am using a Savage model 110 bolt action. I know this gun is capable of fantastic groups .

    Thanks in advance

    Bingo,

Many years I load with ACC #9 and 180 and 200 grs CB.
16-22 grs in 308 and 30-06.+ dacron filler.
    Very small groups.

My go to load with that exact bullet in 30-06 is 27 1/2 grains of 5744 (no filler) with the bullet into the rifling just enough it will not pull out when unloading. Shoots better than any jacketed bullet I've tried in a Savage 116 Stainless Steel Accu-trigger. It's good for 2000 fps +- depending on the lot # I'm using. I have not had any consistant success with 4895 and fillers either. Some guys do, but I have not.

Might want to back way off on the Lee Factory Crimp Die crimp, it may well be sizing your boolit upon being fired.
