Picked up two of these kegs at an auction. Both empty but very cool
Have not found any others like them on net. They held 12lbs of Hercules Red dot. Traces of power in both and def red dot tracers.

Looks very familiar. There was a keg like that in my Dad's reloading shop when I was a kid. He had it full of either 4895 or 4831. He was in a "group" buy and someone backed out leaving him with more powder than expected and he stored it in that keg and a couple of glass gallon jugs from the old Dawg and Suds. Brings back memories. He also shot lots of shotgun, reloaded, helped the Jaycees skeet range get going. I'll bet thats how he came up with an empty Red Dot keg.

I bought one of those in a yard sale about 10-12 years ago for two bucks, still had eleven pounds in it. One of my best yard sale finds...Ray

I've got the itch, but don't got the scratch.
Dad and I used up a few of them when we were shooting trap in two leagues back in the 60's. I'm thinking they cost around $20, but I might be wrong, that was a long time ago. We used the emptys as rifle targets. We rolled them down a slope in an old strip mine, sort of a poor mans running deer target.
I`ve got the same Red Dot drum and a 12 lb. drum Herco came in. These were the 2 powders I was burning the most thru my shotguns and other friends shells back in the early `60`s.Robert
I sold an empty one of those on ebay a number of years ago. Got decent money for it, but a pain to ship.

8 in the 10 ring, then I get a PING. Love my Garand.
I've got a couple cans like that with 700X powder in them still. Been meaning to check the powder and use it up if it's still good. Got them in a used reloading equipment deal some years back.
I was given a 23 lb'er just like that ! Loading .38 specials with it 2.4 gr at a time , should be good for a little while.
I paid 36.00 dollars for one, nearly full, at a swap meetback around 79. It made a lot of 148 grain WC boolits scurry down range. I just threw it away when I moved, but when I see them selling on E-bay, I have some regrets.
