I named my 45-70 Thumper in memory of my Britney named Cheyenne Thumper.
They both thump when they hit the ground or target.

I have a name for my Taurus Ragingbull 454 but it is in Spanish and I wouldn't say it on the forum.

It may date back to mountain man and no one to talk to but their gun. I have always considered it a little childish but that has more to do with my upbringing I believe. Dad was not one to give names to anything but a person or a dog.

I can't even remember the names of my great neices & nephews , how would I remember the names of my guns? Cal .& lock type or cal. & make or model avoids confusion.
A friend names all his guns, only one I am sure of is Yimmy Jaeger.

Yimmy is one fine rifle !

Because firarms are like women in so many ways.
With any of them, if you dont let them talk on a regular basis, they wont work with you when it really matters to you.
They are beautiful and curvy and fill a need that nothing else can.
We all have one that will never leave and if anybody was ever to steal it, they would be pummeled without remorse.
I have several with names: Winifred (300 winmag) is my favorite.
Precision in the wrong place is only a placebo.

Just be careful not to call one by another one's name!
