So I was just cleaning up some lead scraps, wheelweights ect, small batches 15-20lb. just finished getting one pot full melted down but it had a slushie look and feel to it. I was not using a thermometer so do not know the temp, using a Walmart turkey burner for heat. Well casted batch into ingots let cool then tried the muriatic acid test (have never done before) How much should it bubble for zinc contamination? is it reliant on the amount (zinc) in the mix as to how much it would bubble? The batch in question had small amount of bubbling, (very little) tried a known pure sample no bubbles....any coments?
