    Cmp 1903/a3

I was wondering if any other members are trying their luck at getting an 1903/A3 that the CMP has recently put up for sale.

As for myself I sent in for low number Rock Island 1903 an 1903A3 striped receiver and an Remington 513T .22 rifle.

I know buy the number of rifles that they are offering and the number of orders they have received that I don't have the best odds buy hey just like the lotto someone has to win might as well be me.

I'm glad I bought my rifles quite awhile ago. Have 1903A3, M-1 Garand, and M-1 Carbines.
I decided to let others try for the current rifles. Only one I might like to get is a 1917, but should be able to find one on the open market.

That is why I did not get a high number 1903 or a complete 1903A3 because for 150.00 more or so i could get a rifle that I can inspect myself on the open market.

For those who are not aware CMP is selling high number 1903's and A3's for $500, but they are VFW returns with 1,000's of blank rounds fired threw them and are described to have rough barrels.

I became aware of the CMP after the bolt guns had run out. I am in the "lottery" as well. Better odds than the normal state lottery's! Good luck!

For those that might not know. You can go to the CMP stores at either Alabama or Camp Perry and pick out your rifle from those on hand. You get to handle them, inspect them, and even take a bore light or gauge and check the bore and muzzle if you so desire. Best way to make sure you get a good rifle.
