Now I just have to inlay it......
Nice!!!!!
Fast is fine, but accuracy is final!
Will kill for food!
Cool. Looks like a challenge... Would be easier if it was 3/4 that size.
Whered you get the snake?
It's actually not as big as it appears in the picture. It has 6 pegs on the back that are about 3/8" long, so sitting up like that makes it look bigger.
It came from ebay. Not as nice as the $125 each ones that are sold elsewhere, but much cheaper
When I spoke of this being challenging, I thought you were going to cut the grips and recess that snake... just using the pins wouldn't be that hard. Probably helps the grip stay put the way it is now.
I was planning on inlaying it, but I know how that would end up......
That is what I thought. You really need to know how to inlay a curved surface. When I first seen it I said "OH-OH".
I suppose that lifts off too because how would you remove the grips if needed unless it is the Colt two piece grip frame. It does look like a Colt.
It is pretty though.
I'm pretty sure it has the colt style grips with the screw on the bottom. And I think if I had $250 laying around, I'd know for sure.
Yes, it is one piece grips, thus no screw to contend with. Ruger screws have the head on the right panel, so you would have to drive out the escutcheons and reverse them to place the snake on the right panel. A lefty gets off easy on using these.
Funny how much smaller they look in my hand than on the revolver
Your camera is doing something to the image, unless your thumb really is as long as your index finger?
Found another set on ebay for $15. Much better than the ones before and a much better price considering what they cost new!

"The silver rattlesnake was originally made by the late Andy Anderson for Clint Eastwood, who always brought his own guns and gunbelt to the movie set."
Really?
I would think that would be against the rules, today for sure. I always heard Clint wasn't that much of a gun nut.
Neat grips, though.
clint entered fast draw competitions in las vegas a couple of times, in the late 50's.
would have been in the rawhide days.
it might have been an image thing though.
