    A modification of Recluse lube?

I am about to try something. The thought came to me that straight JPW alone worked well as a lube for me but had a tenency to flake off the bullets and not adhere as well as LLA or Recluse lube. I then wondered if maybe melted JPW with about a 10% addition of LLA wouldn't be workable, just enought to cause it to stick on better. Just melt the JPW in a pan and through in a little LLA.Has anyone played with this?

What advantage would this have over what Recluse worked out? LLA is cheap and readily available. It has some good properties such as you described- it sticks to bullets well.
I don't see why you couldn't try what you are describing but i would just use the Recluse formula. Then again, I am not a "reinvent the wheel" kind of guy.

Give it a try and let us know?

I can really appreciate the "what if" thinking. Warm JPW, add a bit of alox, why wouldn't it work?

Try this. You can also use "search"...this is in the "Classics & Stickies" lube recipes. Scroll down to post #26.

Recluse reports that he tried several ratios and 50:50 was the best.
Maybe he could report some of his findings?
