What is this wax? (and what's it good for?)

Some time ago I got the information that the red wax that is used to encase some cheeses is Carnauba wax. so I started saving it (or rather, my granddaughter and those who eat the stuff started saving it for me)
Now I have a respectable supply of it.
Now, looking up what Carnauba wax looks like it seems that may NOT be what this is. Anyone got more info or some kind of definitive proof of what it is I have?
Next, it looks and feels like something that might make excellent boolit lube. Right now I make and use 45/45/10, and that does such a good job for my purposes, I don't know that I actually NEED anythign else.
However, being a habitual tinkerer, it occurred to me that the red wax might be goo in 45/45/10. It seems JPW has carnauba wax in it anyway.
So the following question: Is this stuff good for cast boolits? Will it remain in suspension in 45/45/10 or perhaps in 50/50 beeswax/Alox?
Last, if I add some to 45/45/10 will it become 40/40/10/10 or some such? Cause the acronym is getting cumbersome

in the 50/50 a tablespoon or two per pound shouldnt be a problem , if it doesn't harden it much i wouldnt think there's much carnuba in it , which brings to mind another problem, there are many food grade waxes and doubly so food safe blended waxes , worse it could be a combo of all the above ( and then some ) i havent tried adding wax yet to recluse's recipe ( it's in the plans but ...one project at a time for the minute ) recluse has stated that he's had good luck making stix out of it by mixing it with beeswax so some wax can be a good thing ( fwiw i believe jpw is alot more than just carnuba and mineral spirits IIRC it also has some paraffin wax in it and assorted other goodies , here's a PDF on it , perhaps if you research the brand of cheese you can find a PDF on that wax as well ??

Google says it is a paraffin and microcrystalline wax mix, with food grade red coloring. Should make a good lube, but it might be a little cheesy.

I can just about guarantee it is NOT pure carnauba wax. Carnauba wax in it's pure form is very brittle and would not stay on cheese. As fryboy says it is a mixture of food grade with possibly some carnauba wax in it.

I bet it would make a nice coloring for your lube- dead red,,,or it may be a nice additive in your lube, used properly.

it might make a [good?] carrier for lube but i doubt it will make much of a lube on it's own.

Just mixed up some beeswax/vaseline lube and threw in a bit (10%) of the red cheese wax. Turned the lube a nice pink colour and feels the same as without. I hope to shoot some this weekend. I will report back.

I used to buy the cheese and save the casings, too, but the first time I used it in lube (Felix lube, half-pound batch) the two casings I used hardened it quite a bit, so I googled it and came up with the same thing Edler did, and I don't use it any more.

I got some Carnauba flakes (like Randyrat sells) and never looked back.

I save the red cheese wax too, but because it makes good flux for smelting WWs.
Due to market fluctuations I am no longer buying range scrap jackets.

Have you ever heard of the Keebler elves?
That stuff is their ear wax.

I'd say use it like you would paraffin wax.
But get the ribbon thingies out of it.
