Which holes to use, which to plug?

I just got my first Star sizer and the die has holes for three grooves and holes for two grooves and I am casting 45 cal with a single groove. So I have to plug some holes. Do I use the bottom set of 3 holes, the bottom set of two holes or even the middle set of 3 holes or what? My assumption is that you want the bullet as deep into the die as possible to avoid getting lube on the nose, but I have nothing to support that assumption.

Plug the top and bottom rows and leave the middle open. for two groves plug the top row. Lube on the nose is usually caused by too much pressure and/or heat on the lube.

so to confirm, I will be using the middle set of three holes and the bottom set of two holes to fill my single groove bullet.

It don't matter.. I leave the top holes open on all my Star dies for filling single groove boolits, but it don't matter...
