Shipping time on Paco Kelly's Acu'rzr?

Hello guys,

I put in an order for one of Paco's tools and had a question for those that have ordered one as well..What is the average turn around time? My check was cashed 2 1/2 weeks ago and it has not come in. I have sent several emails over the last 2 weeks for an ETA and have not heard back. I know he is a one man operation and it may take some time..just getting desperate to try the new phase 4!

I emailed him on 3 seperate occasions, different email address, never heard a pip out of him. Made my own in the end. Works great.

Im a little worried now. I have sent him three as well over the last few weeks since my check was cashed and have not heard anything. Dont mind waiting, I just think it would be nice to have a rough estimate of shipping time.

I've never ordered from Paco either, but he is a well-known and well-respected gentlemen. I'd say you'll get your order, but in fairness to a one-man operation and the desire to turn out more than one or two pieces after tooling up for a run, he's probably just amassing a few more orders before hitting the lathe.

It took me about 4-5 weeks to get mine. That was about 8 months ago.

I have ordered the Paco Accurizing System for .22LR and the ATS system for making flat tip ammo (wad cutters) for .22LR, .22WRF and .22 RFM. Both orders took up to 2 months. Paco answered my e-mail concerning questions about accurizing the .22 mag. But the answer came several weeks after I sent it. Patience- your orders will arrive.

Made these myself originally for CB's, they do tighten the group up but there still are some flyers!!!

I found with making my reforming die that there exists a VERY fine line between reforming with great accuracy and completely distroying groups. Once I worked it out success came easy.

Sorry for the late response..been offline for a while. The tool did arrive around the second week in April. I did not get any responses to any of my emails, unfortunately...

To be honest (complete lack of communication aside) I'm pretty disappointed. I got the phase 4 with all 3 forming rods. My biggest issue is the considerable looseness of the forming rods in the "die". This is not a precision instrument in my experience..at least the one I have. The rods were so loose, that it has proven impossible to get anything even resembling a consistent shape when attempting to modify roundnose ammo with any of the rods (tried at least 6 brands). I tried modifying MANY bullets and all with the same result (regardless on how hard or soft I tapped the rods)

The only thing it is good for is enlarging existing hollow point ammo with the nasti nose rod (which it does do nicely) as the existing hollow point seems to center the rod. As for accuracy, I have only used it in one of my rifles and did not notice any improvements The only decent accuracy came from modifying existing hollowpoints..the others were not so good. Unfortunately I have not had a chance to test terminal performance, but i'm hopeful. In short, I think I paid way too much for what it is. I thought about sending it back, but honestly I dont have faith it will be made right based on the previous lack of communication, nor do i want to wait months wondering. I have read many good reviews on the tool...maybe i got a lemon. Eventually I will try to find someone with a lathe to turn some tighter rods for me.

I personally find the Paco tool a bit agricultural. It relies on "feel" and the forming punches from what I can see have no stop. My version uses a half collar as a postive stop and when the collar is removed the final punch travel is enough to free the formed round.

Size down/bump up. Standardize the size. Most ammo other than The size should fit your chamber. He asks what guns you are shooting and recommends size based on that. Most American commercial chambers are .224-.225. If you are shooting an old Model 54, an Anschultz, or a Martini he will recommend a .221 or .222.

At least that's what he did for me.

What is the idea of these tools? Do they just change the nose shape? Profile?
Or do they change the diameter of the bullet, bump it up wider as well?

The rounds in my photos started life as standard velocity RN target ammo. The recovered bullet is from wet phone books at 50m.
