    458 max weight

I am starting a new project. I bought a 458 barrel (cheap), and want to install it on my #1 Rugger 45-70. Will chamber it for 45-70 as well as I have lots of brass.

What I want to end up with is a Single Shot suppressed quiet gun with the heaviest boolit that I can stabilize. I figure since I am using so little powder, the boolit length is not a factor.

The new barrel has a 1:14 twist, will be shooting at 1050 fps. I searched to find a link to the software that will calculate the stability factors but could not find, so will ask:

1, How much over 600 Gr can I go?

    2. and does anyone have a really heavy boolit mold for the 458 dia?

    (Thanks guys).

Around 2.3" max length and around 800-900grs if you can get it (weight only aids stability!)
