    bullet resizing question

    Hello
This is more of a bullet resizing question then swaging but I thought some of you might have some experiance with this.
I have ordered bullet sizing die from CH4D to reduce the size of a jacketed bullet from .264 to .261 for my 6.5x54 kurz mauser.
I have been told you can have spring back of the jacket and seperation from the core that results in poor preformance. Can anyone give me any advice.
    Thanks
    Bob

If you are only reducing .003 it should not be too much of a problem. Where you have issues is when you try to reduce too much.

Agreed, I have seen it in Corbin's literature that anything under .005 or slightly more depending on the bullet will result in as good as a bullet as before the reduction.

I spoke to Dave Corbin two weeks ago about reducing swaged .358 bullets to .355 and he said no problem at all. Since he seems to be the leading public authority on all things Swage, I figured that was good advice....

    I appreciate the information.
TI think I'm on the right track now.
Once I get my sizing die from CH4D I will report back with the results.
    Thanks again

    Bob-

How long was the estimate from CH4D on the bullet sizing die for the kurz? Did you order reloading dies as well? I just acquired a 6.5 Kurz and need to get set up for reloading. Any information would be much appreciated!

    Thanks.

CH4D told me when I ordered the bullet sizing die it could take up to 6 months. It has been just short of 3 months so I am still waiting.
My case forming dies and reloading dies are RCBS.
I have had good luck using Lyman 266455 gas check bullets and IMR 4895.
I set the gas checks and size to .264 and then size again in a .262 die the finished product comes out .2624
I have just started to try IMR 4198 and some of those look like they might be as good or better but I have to try some more this weekend if it does not rain too much.
