What is the useable pressure range of bullets cast from 10-1 lead-tin?
I have a lot of soft lead alloy sitting around and would like to use for my 45 colt.

If I recall correctly Keith used 10-1 and 16-1 in his .44 loads, probably his ,45 Colt loads also. I use 16-1 in magnum loads up through 1600 fps in several cartridges and my muzzle loader also. Should suffice. Only way to know how much your revolver will like is to try it.

Well I run 25-1 in my 270grLHP in the 45colt @ 1000fps. Certainly above the factory 45colt pressure levels, exc accuracy & little leading. At 10-1, probably wasting a bit of tin. I would think 20-1 would handle anything you could throw @ the 45colt.
Whats the BHN of 10-1??
10-1, is what rcbs uses in it's molds for size and uses in thier rifle loads.
20-1 is very useble in the 45 colt.[ i find it to be right at ww hardness]
keith used 16-1 in his 44 mag.
and finally win. and rem used 40-1 in thier 44-40,44 special, 45 colt type rounds for years.
Alright guys I'll give it a try! My load uses a 325 gr Keith from mountain molds over 21gr H110 @ roughly 1100 fps.
