    Help identify my Brass

    Hi.
    I wanted to get some MilSpec .06 brass for a couple projects due to the life expectancy and cost.

    Well, getting 30-06 military once fired brass up here is tough.

    but found some, and now would like help identifying it.
    I know there are many on this board who are very familiar with this stuff, hence I ask here.

    thanks in advance.

    Headstamps as I can read them:
    D.C.Co
    SL
    WRA
    DM
    FA
    LC
    TW

    most dated 42
    there was a couple odd balls, but just a few.

    Now to clean, trim and weigh!

    This is what I remember them to be,

    D.C.Co = Dominion Cartridge Company - I believe this to be a Canadian Company
    SL = St. Louis Arsenal
    WRA = Winchester Repeating Arms
    DM = Des Moines Ordnance Plant
    FA = Frankfort Arsenal
    LC = Lake city Arsenal
    TW Twin City Arsenal

    Thanks for that, Guys

    any idea the best way to clean these?

    If I had a tumber, I'd use clean "JackPine Sand"

    my vibrator media didn't work well last time I had some with corrosion.

    I wonder if Silica sand would work OK in a vibrator...

    any thoughts?

    I had several hundred mixed '47 stamped brass and I had the best luck with crushed walnut/Kaytee bird cage litter mixed with Nu Finish and a little mineral spirits. Some of the corrosion was just too deep to keep the brass so it went into the recycle box.
    I filled my Lyman 1200 about 3/4 full with the litter and dumped in about 2oz. Nu Finish and about 1oz. mineral spirits.

    Lead-1:
    thanks for that.

    If I get to a city that has a PetSmart I'll look into walnut cage litter.

    my local pet store has some but it is very coarse
