The title should read 50/50.
I was reading about Glen Fryxell's moly grease/beeswax lube and wondered if it will work for pan lubing. Anyone tried it?

I think that 30% beeswax is too low. Fifty percent makes a soft lube that is thin enough to work through the lubesizer on a warm day with the heat off, so I would not go as low as 30%
your moly solids will most likely fall out when you melt it.
try a lithium grease.
most every one made is a lithium soap grease with additives.
you don't need to melt the grease to mix it in either.
just soften the b-wax and blend the two together till you see them change colors.
white lith stays in b-wax well and can be bound easily with sodium stearate. [another lube but adds firmness]
Hey Fellas,
the title should have read 50/50. sorry!
Thwe grease I am using is a lithium based one, with moly added (Lubrimatic brand).
I mixed up a small batch last week (just under a pound). It's about as hard as chapstick - just about as soft as the 50/50 beeswax/vasoline I made at the same time.
So think this will work as a pan lube?

There is a lot of good info in this online book. If you go most of the way down the page he describes his personal lube that sounds a lot like yours. If the stuff works well let me know I like the idea of a little moly in lube.
I don;t tihnk that the grease/beeswax lubes go to a liquid as easily as the vaseline/beeswax lubes. Your lube should work, it might not be the easiest pan lube, but you should be able to use it.
I think just about any solid lube will work for pan lubing (at least everything I've tried does). I've pan lubed with commercial and home made lubes, and all the commercial lubes "worked", but some of my concoctions didn't. I believe the key is to have the bullets and lube at the same temp so the lube will stick to the bullet better. But, some lubes may require a different method to separate the bullet from the lube. Example; I cannot "punch out" bullets from Carnuba Red, I need to use a cutter. My Speed Green allows me to push the bullets out of the cake relatively easy/clean...
