It rained bullets at my house !!! PIC

Got my Midway order today ! it included a Lee 6 cavity 158gr. rnfp mold , I

got it cleaned up & preheated & started , well the first few pours finished

gettin all the machining oil out , but then it started happenin !!!!! 6 at the

time Before I knew it the pot was low so I placed it back on the

warmer& refilled with sprues & a couple of ingots , fluxed again & went back

to it , adjusted the heat where I could go with it & in an hour or so I had 25

lbs. of rnfp bullets!!! That`s a tad over 1,000 bullets !!

I`ve cast with 2 holers my whole casting career that started in `84, I`ve had reservations about the Lee 6 bangers & held back for yrs.

    But no longer !!!!

I had a great casting session with a new 6 cavity 452-230TC, and then discovered they were .006" out of round! I hope that you checked before you made a large batch of tiny ingots.

    GP100man,
Had a similar experience w/ the TL358-158-SWC the first time I used it. Makes a guy think he needs a 40 pound pot!!
Good going, enjoy shooting the up. jmsj

That's awesome. Lot's of boolits are lots of fun!

I add couple pound ingots as soon as the pot will take them. Cast until your tired of it!

Just wait until you are running two twenty pound pots and 2-3 gang molds - you have to love productions especially of ammo or Boolits.

Ya-ya-ya... I just read it over at tfl, too..... Go ahead--rub it in some more...

Don't mind me, I'm just jealous because I'm working all week and have no time to shoot or cast... NOW, where are the photos??!! You KNOW we like to see photos, so don't hold out like that.

    Similar thing on Sunday

....fired up the pot, fired up the heater (it was in the low 30's outside), turned on the radio, and my 4 cavity H&G #51 cast like a house afire. I cast about 35lbs worth of ingots, and wound up with some 1500 bullets. I must have been in one of my manic phases because I went for a number of hours (about 4 hours total) and really took my time.
Interesting that the mould was very temperature sensitive. Too hot, the bullets were frosted badly. Just right and they all fell out when the mould was opened. At worst, just a tap of the neoprene hammer did it. I let the mould cool between pours and that slowed production.
My forearms, wrists and fingers were pretty sore the next day. Interesting how we get older and we can't do that kind of stuff any more without paying a price.
I didn't get the production you got, but still had a good casting session. Now I need to size and lube them then load them in 38's to start blasting.

That is a very good design, IME. I think you are likely to have excellent results, and
you will have a real bucket of them.

I`ve had a 2 holer for yrs. Santa sent a 20#er production pot so it was only a natural choice !!!

Here they are a few culls & a few wrinkles that went to the plinkin pile but they fall out at 359+ , out of the bunch ya see the 1 in the mic is the smallest I found, so 359+ it is !!!
