    8x57mm 323471 Load Suggestions

I recently got myself a Turkish 8mm Mauser that I am planning on shooting only as a cast boolit rifle. Mostly I'll just be ringing steel with it, and maybe shooting a rifle side match for giggles after an IDPA match here and there. At any rate, cast boolits loaded on the low end are likely to do everything I need done with this rifle, its a toy and not a gun I want to push hard anyway.

So, I'm anxiously awaiting the NOE fat 323471 group buy, and until then I have a Lee 8mm mould to play with. I'd like to work up a load using 2400, Wolf LR primers, and mixed 8mm brass. I'm looking for maybe 1600-1800 fps. Anyone have any suggestions?

I've shot 15-16-17-18 in mine with 2400 and 14-15-16 with Trail boss and all shot very well,as well as I could shoot it actually.I've found my 8x57 to be very easy to load and shoot,it likes fat boolits,.325 at least and any powder from TB right through to case fulls of 50BMG fodder. Pat

I agree with pat on both his loads. Have been as high as 20 gr. of 2400, but got best accruacy at about 17.5. I use a filler w/2400. Good luck.

Same loads same results as Pat in three 8x57's.14 of TB has been as standard lately with that and the 323378 245 grainer.

Thanks for the tips guys, looking forward to trying some of these out. I also have plenty of Trail Boss, so that should be fun too.

Thank you. I'm using long eye relief scopes on these rifles so the groups tend to be much better than with iron sights.
