    Wheel weights in hollow base

    I am going to get the lee 405 grain hollow base boolit the shoot in my trapdoor and I was wondering if the hollow base of that boolit would be able to expand into the grooves if it was made from wheel weights?

    IAN;

    Mine seem to work well, I am not using a scope and with the iron sights on my handi rifle 45/70 I am hitting a 32oz Gatorade bottle at 100yds.

    Any of the faster powders will stand a better chance of expanding the skirt than the slower powders. If you can fit the boolit to the gun then you won't need to worry about it though. If it's way undersized...well, you can try the Dot type powders.
