    Lead Scrap For Sale

    Found a site that is advertising scrap lead for a "fraction of market value".
    No price listed but here is the link. www.nuclead.com

    Go to : In Stock Lead Products on left side of the home page. Then about in the middle of the next page is scrap lead.

    Hmmz. If someone asks for a quote, find out how much they want for shotgun shot, and/or the 6or 7% antimony blends.

    I didn't ask for a quote but packing and shipping charges would keep me
    from making an individual order, probably just too expensive for me.
    $1/minute packing charge minimum $10, and shipping UPS is cost + 30%.
    Of course if the price per pound is really low it might be OK.
    If ordering scrap there appears to be no selection for type of alloy.

    From their site:

    "TERMS (Unless otherwise contracted):
    1) Quote valid 5 days. Order cannot extend delivery quoted;
    2) No rejects accepted after 5 days or from obvious freight damage the day of receipt;
    3) Not responsible for material shrinking, porosity or discoloration, as this is a normal occurrence;
    4) If delivery by our truck, price =$60/hr+ $0.20/mile; UPS or common carrier is our cost +30%; Freight collect $15 origin charge (Will Call N/C); $1/minute packaging for all orders (min $10);
    5) Resale Cert. required aro, or tax will be added;
    6) 35% re-stocking fee for stock items returned within 5 days. NO refund on cut, poured, machined or special items;
    7) If no pick up is made, "Will Call" will be invoiced 3 days after due date; Pre-paid orders Nuclead will exercise adverse procession 21 days after due date;
    8) Tolerances, sawed items +/- 3/32", stock thickness varies, weighted items +/-10%;
    9) $25 Core charge for spooled items, per spool;
    10) CofC, Material Cert or wire fees are $15/each;
    11) Quoted FOB Origin"

    Yeah, I imagine freight from Mass to Idaho would be a bit cost prohibitive...

    with those terms.
    at a nickel a pound for the lead, the packing and shipping would cost like 7 million dollars.
    those figures are off the top of my head, i may be off two or three dollars.

    Their scrap lead is $1.65 and reclaimed shot is $ 1.24
    plus a $15.00 packaging fee and shipping.
    No bargains there guys.
    Sent from my PC with a keyboard and camera on it with internet too.

    They have a right to price stuff as they see fit.That said,when I asked about price on bullet alloy,they were TWICE as much as roto metals ! Must be a NE thing with the high prices. The shipping is a killer too !Local scrapyard sell WW for 60cents/lb,they sometimes have solder and other goodies at same price.

    I have to pay $1.00 for scrap lead locally. Last buy had 1 pound of 95/5 lead free solder included.

    Bought some scrap about a month ago at 80¢/lb, there was some linotype mixed in, and plumber's pipe.
