lead, see sticky above. It's a lot more than it used to be, to the point of not making sense anymore...Ray

    +1 to what Ray said.

The glory days of surplus powder, are unfortunately over.
Surplus used to be about half of what canister powder was, and vendors, had a large selection of what seemed like an endless supply. I spent a good deal of money over the years with Pats Reloading and especially Jeff Bartlett. This was for surplus powder and pull down military bullets.

Surplus and/or pull-down powder is almost the same price as commercial canister grade.
It was one thing when it was half the price or ever a little more. For $20 more on an 8 lb. keg, I went with commercial powder.

I'll echo what the others have said, your best bet is to get a few other shooter friends to go on an order so as to split the Shipping AND Has Mat charges.
From my research your best prices are at Powder Valley

Nothing at all negative towards Jeff, as he is a stand up guy and I have purchased powder from him for years, but his supply isn't what it one was.

Powder Valley http://powdervalleyinc.com/ has new commercial canister 4895 for $134. $9 more. For that small difference and even more, I go with commercial canister powder.

If you need powder right now check out Grafs as right now if you purchase 16 pounds of
powder you get free Haz-Mat shipping....still need to pay freight....and they maybe $4.95
    per order...?
