    excess650:

There is a couple cast bullet loads and one jacket load over at reloadersnest.com that I am working around with for my Spartan in 7.62X29 with the Lee C-309-150-F. Mine cast small but I have honed out the mold to drop at .313" and I size/check at .312". My bore slugged just under .311".

These loads are listed as MAXIMUM LOADS!

    Load ID # 4658 : 158gr RCBS FN-GC. 27.0 gr. H322. 2243 fps 7.62X39mm

    Load ID # 4659 : 158 gr RCBS FN-GC. 26.0 gr. Rx-10. 2212 fps 7.62X39mm

    Load ID # 5745 : 150 gr Hornady SP. 28 gr. H4895. 2154 fps 7.62X39mm

The 28 gr H4895 is showing no signs of pressure in my rifle at all with my cast 151 gr checked/lubed bullet and accuracy is minute of deer at 2.8 inches @ 100 yds. Still working it !!

    Keep us posted.

How much does it weigh sans optics? How good are the irons? I have been pondering over one of those ever since I acquired my 375 H&H safari.

Please see the thread at the top, Practial Done on the 7.62x39mm, for some stuff I have done with my CZ 527M. It is the niftiest little rifle I have ever owned, and it is a joy and a half to shoot. So farthe best I have done is with the NOE 129 gr gas checked boolit.

Very nice! I haven't tried any of those boolits. They appear to be a bit longer than the magazine will hold?

They ALL work through the magazine and action. The tapered Saeco can be seated out a bit further, but then won't fit in the magazine and might leave the lube groove exposed.

I REALLY like the full stocked rifle, but wish it came in a larger caliber. The carbine is a real treat. In this day of plastic and stainless steel, its nice to have the option for blued steel and real walnut.

I have to agree, my little 527M is the rockingest light rifle I have ever owned. I'd hazard a guess it's the one firearm I enjoy shoointg the most right now....neck and neck with the Phantom.

These are the boolits/loads I use with mine, which is why I was surprised those loads above worked int the 527 magazine.

If you can get a CZ 527M, grab it!

CZ 527s in 7.62x39 are worth seeking out. Anytime I find one at a reasonable price I buy it. I'm up to 4 and still looking for #5.

Great for shooting cast or turing into PPCs or Grendels.
