    Lightbulb boolit lube

i'm new to this and really don't know what i'm doing. but i've got a question. i'm a welder by trade and have been for over 30 years and just been reloading for 1 year and i had a thought which is rare. this may be silly but has any one ever tried splatter spray for a lube on bullets. it helps weld splatter from sticking and drys fast. i think i'll try it i can't mess up any more than i already have. i just didnt know if anyone else has tryed it.

    Sheesh,
Another ingredient to add to my already overstocked shelf of future lube ingredients.

does it come in anything but a spray can?

it's a dip type lube kind of like vaseline or lanolin that he's referring to i'm sure , i also thought it was water based ( or the stuff i got from airgas was ) here's the link to the MSD's of it ( ummm non aerosol that is )

    http://www.grainger.com/Grainger/ARC...RN8?Pid=search
    MSD's
    http://www.airgas.com/documents/pdf/004034.pdf

and a few other brands ( most arent listings MSD's ) but seem to be biodegradable

    http://www.weldingsuppliesfromioc.co...ZLE-DIP/Detail

this one has MSD's and is basically vaseline ( not water soluble )

    MSD

not sure what else they put in the petro one but it could possibly work as well as vaseline anyways ( tho vaseline is alot cheaper ) unless they add something to make it not stick ( that would help any leading but it also may not stay on the boolit ) umm the above is all speculation on my part and i can admit it lolz

heck iv'e been thinking of water dropping in z-max for some time.
you never know what'll work and what won't.
iv'e seen chain lube used before.

i've used both kinds but i was thinking about the spray on . the paste is nozzle dip for your welding gun to keep it from sticking in your cup and it wouldnt be cost effective but the spray on another story .a little goes a long way dries pretty fast .i need to get my star luber sizer figured out first before i start something new........know what i mean sports fans

figures of the two options i'd pick the wrong one lolz there's been quite a bit of discussion on various things because after all for general use ( not hard core fast velocity stuff ) the things that would work stagger the mind , having said that try some and let us know !!! and here's a couple links that helps show what i mean ( full of all sorts of ideas )

If the nozzle dip type dries, would'n that be a candidate for a dip lube? Or tumble lube?

nozzle dip is about the thickness of vasaline but im gonna try it ill let every one know. my lead pot will leak sometimes and its on top of a alum. plate and i spray the plate and it wont stick to it when it drips matter of fact the drip ends up looking like a flat washer with a hole in the center.
