220 gr will make a long bullet. The rifle will need a fast twist to stabalize the bullet.
I've had 215 gr 311284s shoot very well from 12" twists. The problem with the .308W is the short neck and having to seat most heavy bullets too deep. I've found 311299 to be an excellent heavy weight bullet in the .308W.

That short neck is exactly why I like the 200 gr SAECO #301 in the 308. Works for me anyway.
