Arrow 44 200gn RN HP by Mihec First molding

Well took an hour so to run some of these, and the quality and consistency is equivalent to all of MP molds I have , dang near perfect.
I used WW/Lino mix of 80/20, air cooled, just for a quick run of 100 pieces.
Only thing I find wrong is, its hard to stop casting when they continue to produce perfect casts , everytime.
Havent tried the five sided pins.
Just some pics and measurements, will try to load some up and report back...
    Anyone else?

Thank you again Highland Drifter fro honchoing this, and thanks to Miha for another quality product.

    Pete

Nice boolits. Please let us know how they perform once you get them loaded up.

I'm still waiting for my mold to arrive. This should work very well in my 1894 Marlin.

I am wishing I had got in on this one for my Marlin.

I did get the 434640 and this would have been a very nice little brother.

I think I will check with Miha to see if he has any extras.

I will be looking forward to range results when you get to shoot them.

I new these molds would turn out awesome. It took so long that I actually signed on and off this group buy twice.

Financial constraints caused me to drop out the second time.

If I can scrounge up the spending money, and if Mihec made some extra, I may still buy myself one for Christmas.

In the mean time I'll have to make due with my Lee six cavity mold. I figured out a way to convert the center three cavities to Cramer-Style Hollow Pointing cavities but, it's hard to beat a mold that's been made to be a hollow point mold from the git-go. Especially ones of Mihec's quality.

Mine came in today and is the best of the molds I have bought from him. Don't mean this to be damning with faint praise; the other molds are superb but required a little effort on my part to get the pins to slide freely. Both sets of pins fit the blocks perfectly and slide with little to no resistance. Still not sure what this boolit can do that the #503 HP cannot (except use less lead) but I am vert happy to have been on this group buy.
I was hesitating on the 45-200 four cavity HP until I got this one - the molds just keep getting better, and you can't touch the price with a standard mold conversion. I will order that one, and wish I had the cash to buy extras as an investment.

Mine cast at 210 for the regular HP and 215 for the penta pin, and .431-.432 for both.

    AnthonyB:

I was thinking along the same lines but there is one thing this boolit should do better than the H&G #503 and that is feed in a Marlin 1894.

I have had "challenges" in getting SWC's to feed reliably in my Marlin.

I got my mould and immediately cast up some HP and Pentapoints -- no problems. A great mould.

    Many thanks.

My HP was 209 gr, and the Pentapoint heavier at 214 rounding down.

My two arrived yesterday and they cast like nothing I have tried before. I am hooked on brass if they all work like these do. I have already commited to the .454 200gr Cramer and Plain and the 503 in brass.

Mine came out .435ish and weighed 207 for HP, 213 for Penta, and 223-224 for plain.

I shot a few of the hp yesterday.

My load was 7.7 gr. Unique.

The pentapoint clocked in at 815 fps; the hp at 835 fps. Very gentle shooting, no pressure signs.

This out of a 3 in 44spl revolver. Can't wait to really work the load up and see what it does to water jugs.

I, too, am sold on brass moulds and will jump in on other offerings...much to my checking account's chagrin.

I received my mold last Saturday and cast 300 penta points or so that day. My alloy is about 91/4.5/4.5 and I water dropped them. Boolits dropped at about 207 gr. I sized them to .431 and lubed with BAC.

Tonight I shot a box of them. RP cases, CCI 350 primers. Shot from a Redhawk Hunter, scoped and off a rest at 50 feet. Charges were 27.0 gr H100, 23.0 gr 2400, and 25.5 gr IMR 4227.

Here's the best group of each:
