Lookin for some go to recipes for Blue Dot and both 124-125gr boolits and 147gr boolits. I appreciate your input. So far I am looking at 7gr with the 125gr Mihec round HP..

I've used it with some 145 grain commercial cast at 5.5 gr. and 125 gr RN at 7.5 gr.
There was unburnt powder with the 125 gr. If that is what you have, use it. I currently use Unique and AA #5 for 9mm. Current use is nothing heavier than 125 gr.

My go to load for the 9mm is 8.0 grains Bluedot over the 124 2-R RNL
This is a max load so reduce and work up.
In my Taurus PT99 with a 6 Inch Bar Sto barrel I get 1452 FPS as an average velocity for 10 round chrony'd.
Bluedot will like a longer barrel If your shooting a 3 or 4 inch auto you might get some flash when fired!
The best load I've found for my Hi Power is a Lyman 358480 133 gr SWC with 7.0 grs BD. The Lee 358-125 RF shows promise over the same charge. I haven't chronographed either.
Works great in .38 and .357 with cast.

I used 7.5 BD with the Sierra 115 JHP @ 1.05"OAL in a PT99. Gave me 1208 fps and was accurate. Also used with Hornady 124 FMJ FN bullet with 7.2 gr for 1088 fps. Accuracy was average. I use it mostly in 38 Super & 10mm now and some 357 loads.

BlueDot worked so well for me in the 38 Super that I then worked up loads for the 9mm and 380 with it.
I use 6.5 grains of BD behind an H&G #275 09=125-SWCB sized 357 for my HiPower and this load was a one holer at 15 yards. one of my friends has almost 20,000 rounds of an H&G #309 09-125-TCPB thru his Glock 17 with factory barrel with the same 6.5 grains of BD.
How's that hope and change working for you?
I came across this the other day:

Dannix, thanks. I have recently been trying to rediscover (used it 30 years ago) Blue Dot. It seems to work well in most anything Unique works in with less perceived recoil. Probably my imagination but thats my story.

My 1992 Hercules Reloaders Guide says.
125gr lead 8.2gr BD=1190 fps @29,700 psi
147gr xtp w/6.2gr of BD=1050 fps @ 30,200 psi
Some 9MM BD chrono readings from my notes:
Khar K9 3.5" BBl.
7.5/BD/120 lee--1183fps--Same load out of Browning HP--1321 fps
Browning HP:
147 cast (Kead commercial)5.6/BD--1010 fps
6.5/BD/120 Lee--1154 FPS
Dannix--Khar polygonal barrels work just fine with lead, very accurate!

I load 7.5 grains of blue dot behind RCBS's 125 grain TC and 6.0 grains behind Lyman's 150 grain 358477.
Well they do apparently have pretty different burn rates, so perhaps that accounts for the different feel.

I flipped a coin when I made a hazmat purchase recently, and AA7 got the nod to try. With so much BlueDot material out there I kind of regret that choice now, but they do seem very similar, so hopefully it will be just a slightly different means to the same end.
