It is already packaged in military approved containers.

Bullshop, Now that you mentioned using it with cast in the 45-70, Im thinking about trying it in my .50 HP with cast. That would be nice!

I'll let it set for a bit and then start contacting the big places if no takers jump in. Id love to have a couple hundred pounds myself.

One time it was loaded with a cow load and worked good in the 30 Cals.

I think they're asking to much for it, with those terms. If they cut the price in half they may find a buyer, maybe. Sounds like they're trying to be a wholesaler and retailer combined.

Now if they were talkin' something like 4895, then that would be a different matter all together.

+100 there! I use 77.5 grains of it with 160 grain Sierra BTs. Three-shot clover leafs at 100 yards. I was floored when I found out Hodgdon had quit selling 870. I started buying up all the AA-8700 I could find. Didn't get much. I'd like to have some of this surplus, but not 100# of it. 8, 16 maybe, but not 100#.

I'm in for 146,999 pounds of it. Someone else is gonna have to pony up for the other pound. I can't afford it all.

I used an awful lot of that in 7.62x54R Russian, .30-06, 7.5x54 French, .338 Win Mag, and 6.5mm Swede Mauser using a booster over the flash hole of 4 grains IMR4895, except for the .338 Win Mag and Swede that don't need the booster to burn clean. Also, I could go through 100 pounds of that real fast no problem with my .50 BMG and other real large bore rifles.

Kept in dry underground cool storage totally out of light it would keep for probably 60 years IF, and a big IF, it hasn't been stored in a hot climate already.

They sold alot of it off, down to 50,000 lbs. If they can move some more, maybe we can get it down to a manageable amount.

Did they happen to say who got it? When someone is kicking tires in my shop I dont even take them seriously until I get an offer. Maybe we should be daring and make an offer. How about 50G's for the remaining 50,000 lb lot? I would still be in for half a ton.

I would be interested in 10 - 20 pounds depending on the final price.

I don't think that we have gotten past the first logistical issue of the spare million-five laying around yet.

My son uses it in the 7mm Rem mag with 140gr bullets. I have used it in the 40-65 with results almost identical to black, including the smoke.
