Range Test With 40s&w Cases To .45ACP Bullets

so i took my swage 40s&w to .45acp bullets to the range today. target was at 25yds. powder is 452AA primers are Wolf LP the group that is mainly in the black was shot by the pistol on the left. Para P-14. Bar-sto barrel. the group in the lower white was shot with my single stack with a Storm Lake barrel. same sight hold at 6'Oclock. not bad for bullets made from free brass and lead. these sure will do for home defense loads. thanks to all who help set me on this road.

Nice post. I hope to have results tomorrow from my 21. Buddy is bringing his chrono so we should have velocity data to go along with accuracy and load data.

What was the final weight of the boolits you shot?

    Jailer,
i was not able to recover any of the bullets as i was at a public that does not allow anything down range except a target. if i can get out to the range friday i will chrongraph the next batch. will have to take a trip out into the desert to do any expansion test.

    BT,
they are 230 grains give or take a tenth. the trick with bumping up the core weight with 7 1/2 #8 shot keeps the weights pretty consistant.
